Ottawa 67’s to host mental health awareness game in partnership with CMHA Ottawa

Talk Today game night happening at 7:00 p.m. at TD Place Arena, Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025, presented by Syngenta Canada and Good in Every Grain
[Ottawa – Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025] – The Ottawa 67’s have partnered with the Canadian Mental Health Association, Ottawa Branch, for a mental health awareness game happening Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 7:00 p.m., when the 67’s take on the Oshawa Generals at The Arena at TD Place.
The game day experience will have several features to promote the importance of mental health, including:
- A CMHA Ottawa-run kiosk on the concourse where fans can learn more about mental health and the organization’s community-based services and local resources – plus lots of free giveaways
- An in-game videoboard feature
- Videos featuring Ottawa 67’s players talking about the importance of mental health – see them on Instagram!
This mental health awareness game is part of the Ottawa 67’s ongoing partnership with CMHA Ottawa and its Talk Today program.
One of the most comprehensive sports mental health awareness and suicide prevention programs in Canada, Talk Today aims to promote suicide prevention, the mental health of young athletes and spread awareness about the benefits of positive mental health throughout communities across the country. Launched in 2014 as a partnership between CMHA Ontario and the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), Talk Today has since expanded into the top two levels of junior hockey nationally, the CHL and its member leagues (OHL, Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League and Western Hockey League), as well as eight member Jr. A leagues in the Canadian Junior Hockey League.
In addition to mental health education, local Talk Today partnerships between CMHA branches and sports organizations like the Ottawa 67’s to provide athletes with connections to community supports through a dedicated mental health coach, as well as opportunities to raise mental health awareness through community events.
This special mental health awareness game night is presented by Syngenta Canada and Good in Every Grain. Be sure to stop by the CMHA Ottawa kiosk for a complimentary stress-ball hockey puck.
