CMHA Ottawa has updated the majority of our programs to be delivered via a virtual platform during the COVID-19 pandemic. We will be releasing training dates and other updates during 2021-22 as we progress with new information.
We are currently releasing the fall 2021 schedule for online registrations NOW OPEN for CMHA Ottawa Staff Only. Winter/Spring registration will open in fall of 2021 and information on virtual or classrooms sessions will be updated at that time.
Please note that any training programs we run at this time, will be done so in a virtual online environment and access to a computer with sound and video is required. THIS PROGRAM IS CURRENTLY ONLY AVAILABLE TO CMHA STAFF
This training program is designed to help front line workers better understand the context, roles and functions of intensive case management within our current mental health system.
About the Course
Emphasis is placed on practical knowledge and skills that reflect the Mental Health Community Support Services environment as well as Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Intensive Case Management Service Standards for Mental Health Services and Supports. Recovery principles and values are presented as strong foundations for practice. Participants are also encouraged to explore ethics, boundaries and resiliency strategies.
The goal of the training is to provide an overview of intensive case management as an evidence-based model to support individuals living with mental illness achieve their goals and to equip staff with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively provide recovery-oriented, client-directed services within a community setting.
