It’s International Self-Care Day!
Jan 11, 2018
July 24 is International Self-Care Day, which aims to raise public awareness of the importance of self-care to stay healthy and prevent or delay illness.
Established in 2011 by the International Self-Care Foundation (ISCF), Self-Care Day aims to raise public awareness of the importance of self-care to stay healthy and prevent or delay illness.
Self-care means taking small steps to live a healthy lifestyle every day. To help, ISCF has developed a framework for self-care around seven pillars or domains, one of which is mental well-being, self-awareness and agency.
CMHA recognizes that mental health is not the avoidance of mental health conditions but rather about living well and feeling capable despite challenges. Mental health is also influenced by a range of factors, including our life experiences, workplace or other environments, and the social and economic conditions that shape our lives.
CMHA joins individuals and organizations around the globe in celebrating International Self-Care Day.
